This centre of artificial insemination (CIA) is located in the municipal district of Avià, in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, an area with little porcine density. This CIA allocates in its facilities 132 boars of different genetics, although it was created to take in Pietrain race specifically, and so, a 75% of the boars that Semen Cardona has in these facilities are Belgian and German Pietrain. However, there are also 25% of finisher hybrids.
