Semen Cardona is a group of centres dedicated to porcine multi-genetic artificial insemination with a capacity of 600 boars with the best genetics. The centres have the most advanced technology and they always follow the European normative and the certification ISO-9001:2000 with strict biosafety measures and high health status. For this reason, the centres have been specially designed to guarantee the accomplishment of all possible biosafety measures and, at the same time, minimize the sources of pathogen agents entry. All the centres have a system controlling environmental conditions in order that they are always constant (temperature, damp and photoperiod) with heating and refrigeration automatically controlled, as well as a ventilation system in each warehouse that is made through air extraction or depression.

The Centre in Cardona has an adaptation facilities with environmental features, kind of ground and social environment, which are similar to the main boar stud ones, where they carry out the training and adaptation of new arrival boars, coming from external quarantines.

A series of analysis of seminal contrast, acrosomina, microbiology and periodical health controls are always made from the company facilities that have three differential laboratories, one for dilution (placed next to the boars stud), an other for production, contrast and packaging(inside the central facilities of the company but out of the boars biosafety perimeter separated by two fences), and a third one, placed outside Semen Cardona facilities where microbiologic controls of semen and water for dose production are made ; serology of centre boars and repositions, as well as seminal PCR and serums.

* Fresh semen The group of multi-genetic centres Semen Cardona has a selling and distribution service of fresh semen in different kinds of packaging like tube / blister or bag, as well as Gedis format, all of them inside an isothermal transport box to guarantee the highest quality, safety and preservation of product.

These seminal doses are serviced at 16º in an approximate period of time of 24 hours at national level (Spain) and Europe and, at international level, depending on the country, they are distributed in an approximate time of 2 or 3 days.

* Frozen semenSemen Cardona also offers frozen semen, which is distributed in a packaging format that guarantees the highest quality and preservation of seminal doses, in straws of 0,5ml with a concentration of 500 million spermatozoon, at a temperature of -196º in nitrogen tank with IATA certification.

Frozen seminal doses are distributed within 24 hours to all Spanish land and Europe. At international level, depending on the country, they are exported in 2 or 3 days.
